Volunteers and Hospital Auxiliary

Hospital volunteers and Auxiliary members help with a variety of services for the Madison Community Hospital. They assist to meet patient needs on inpatient, outpatient services, as well as the Hospice Program. They help to enhance that "home-like" feeling.

Hospice volunteers are very important to the hospice program. They provide comfort and support to patients, family, and friends. Their part of the team is invaluable support. Some of their services may include:

  • Errands for family
  • Sitting with the Hospice patient to give family some respite time
  • Be a caring source of social support

The Auxiliary members meet regularly. They are an active, friendly group of members to promote the Madison Community Hospital and assist in fundraising projects to meet the needs of the patient's at the Madison Community Hospital. Their annual fundraiser held in November has helped them to raise money for such projects as:

  • Blanket Warmers
  • Emergency Cart
  • Specialty Mattresses

Auxiliary members help:

  • Maintain the gift shop
  • Delivering mail to inpatients
  • Maintain a card supply for families, patients and staff
  • Decorate the hospital for the Christmas holiday
  • Provide acknowledgement gift for babies born in December and the New Year's Baby
  • Make and donate bibs for the newborns
